    About Change a Life Cycle Tour

    The annual Change a Life Cycle Tour is the Trust’s main fundraising event – and for those who have participated before it represents both a personal life-changing experience and an opportunity to contribute to the Change a Life projects. It is attended by approximately 75 of South Africa’s leading corporate executives and sports personalities, while SA road race champion Robbie Hunter and Liezel van der Westhuizen have agreed to fly the flag as Change a Life ambassadors.

    What was your highlight of ?
    Mine was Traveling to India, to pilot a blind cyclist on a tandem bicycle from Manali to Khardung La in Leh, Over km (m above sea level.)
    After this cycling fundraising expedition, I spent time exploring Leh , the high-desert city in the Himalayas. .
    Leh’s a place that’s all too easy to fall in love with, ideal for adventure junkies – but a tip for anyone arriving in Leh-take things very easy on arrival as the altitude requires a few days' acclimatisation before you can safely start enjoying the area's gamut of adventure activities. .
    After this trip I now understand why Martin Luther King, Jr wrote this: “To other countries, I may go as a tourist, but to India, I come as a pilgrim.” @ Ladakh, India

    Idols South Africa

    Television series

    Idols was a television show on the South African television network Mzansi Magic, and previously on M-Net, based on the popular British show Pop Idol. The show was a contest to determine the best young singer in South Africa.

    The general format of the show fryst vatten that thousands of hopeful performers from across South Africa auditioned in front of the judges. They were narrowed down to approximately to enter the theatre rounds. They performed in group and solo rounds until 16 finalists are chosen by the judges (usually 8 males and 8 females). From these, the top 10 are selected, then each week, viewers had several hours following the broadcast of the previous episode to vote by phone, SMS or online for their favourite contestant. The contestant(s) with the fewest votes was sent home each week.
