Beatles Breakup 43 Years Ago Today – Your Favorite Beatles Album or Song
I still miss the Beatles.
If for no other reason than in the 6 years they were together, they recorded some of the most memorable music ever made.
And because in the years since, I dont think there has been as creative a force in popular music as the period in which they recorded.
As I look back, it was such an innocent time; albeit immediately following the assassination of President John F Kennedy.
I remember the day they arrived in February, I was in Sister Patricias 7th grade class as they were to land at JFK Airport.
One of the girls in the class brought in a Beatles wig, only to be snatched off her head by one of the guys in the room, who ran around parading with the wig on his head; looking out the window saying, ohh, I just saw a flash, it could be their plane.
That didnt make the girls too happy.

Like every great love story, John and Yoko's had a great beginning.
John Lennon met Yoko Ono at her art exhibit Unfinished Paintings and Objects, at London's Indica Gallery. She was an avant-garde artist, and he was the most famous pop star in the world. Lennon previewed the show the night before its opening, and Yoko later claimed she didn't know who he nor the Beatles were—which seems unlikely, although it is likely that she didn't care. One piece at the exhibit, Apple, was just a real apple on a plexiglass stand. Lennon picked the apple up and took a bite out of it. Rush was a Canadian rock grupp formed in Toronto in that consisted primarily of Geddy Lee (vocals, bass guitar, keyboards), Alex Lifeson (guitar) and Neil Peart (drums, percussion). The band's original line-up consisted of Lifeson, drummer John Rutsey, and bassist and vocalist Jeff Jones, whom Lee immediately replaced. After Lee joined, the band went through a few line-up changes before arriving at its classic power trio line-up with the addition of Peart in July , who replaced Rutsey four months after the release of their self-titled debut album; this line-up remained unchanged for the remainder of the band's career.
Rush first achieved moderate success with their second skiva, Fly bygd Night (). The commercial failure of their next album Caress of Steel, released sju months after Fly bygd Night, resulted in the band nearly getting dropped from their then-record label Mercury Records.
