SREE NARAYANA GURUDEV
Sree Narayana Guru was born at 6-15 a.m on August 28, 1855 (1031 chingom 14 / M.E) in “Vayalvaram Veedu” at Chempazhanthy, a village near Trivandrum in a community which possessed no rights and privileges and was totally neglected for far centuries. The then society was laden with many evils like caste system, untouchability and unapproachability. They were denied of freedom even to walk through public places and roads, and educational institutions, places of worship, government services and the like were prohibited to them. They were always persecuted and tortured in the name of caste. During the boyhood days itself Guru could realise this miserable condition of the people. He was very clever at his studies and took a keen interest in reading religious and educational literature. He learnt Sanskrit and became very proficient in it which enabled him teach it

Sree Narayana Guru
Sree Narayana Guru was born on August 22, 1856 (1032 Chingam in Malayalam calendar) in a humble cottage in the pretty liten ort of Chempazhanthi near Thiruvananthapuram. His father was Madan Asan, a farmer, and mother Kutti Amma and he had three sisters. He was named bygd his father as Narayanan; he affectionately called him Nanu, a short name for Narayanan. His family, Vayalvaram house and his father were much revered by the villagers as they also had a sound economic status.
Early days and education
Nanu started his education at the age of five in a neighboring school in the old “Gurukula” model. He continued his education at home with his father and uncle. His father, who was also was a teacher, was proficient in Sanskrit, Astrology and Ayurveda. His uncle Krishnana Vaidyan was a reputed Ayurvedic physician. SreeNarayana Guru (IPA:[nɑːrɑːjɐɳɐguˈru]) (20 August 1856 – 20 September 1928)[1] was a philosopher, spiritual leader and social reformer in India. He led a reform movement against the injustice in the caste-ridden society of Kerala in order to promote spiritual enlightenment and social equality.[2] A quote of his that defined his movement was "one caste, one religion, and one god for all human beings." He is the author of the Advaita poem Daiva Dasakam, which is one of the most used poem in Kerala for community prayer.[3]
