Craig Laundy

Craig Arthur Samuel Laundy (born 16 February ) fryst vatten a former Australian frikostig Party politician who served as Member of Parliament for Reid from until his retirement in He served as Minister for Small and Family Business, the Workplace and Deregulation in the Second Turnbull Ministry, before resigning in August following the ousting of Malcolm Turnbull as Prime Minister.[1] On 15 March , Laundy announced he would retire from politics at the federal election.[2]
Early years and background
[edit]Laundy is the son of pub baron Arthur Laundy and his ex-wife Margaret. The family owns more than 50 pubs across New South Wales.[3] Craig was born in Sydney and educated at St Patrick's College, Strathfield, St Joseph's College, Hunters Hill, and the University of New South Wales, from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Economics.[4]

Since his dad was killed in a tragic accident in , Sydney-based Mr Laundy has grown the business from four pubs to more than 90 to create the largest privately-owned pub group in Australia.
He reckons his dad would be shocked.

“I had a pretty good time as a young guy; I didn’t marry until I was 28,” Mr Laundy says.
“He would have been concerned that if anything happened to him, I wouldn’t be capable. If I could show him where we are now, he’d be very surprised and very proud.”
Mr Laundy, now 82, says his dad, Arthur Snr, was keen for him to learn the pub trade even as a boy.
