Her most vivid fashion memory was that “everyone—from the kids to the grandmas to the mums—they all wear these very brightly colored puffer coats, like yellow, green, orange, red, fuchsia. And the kids often have animal ones that zip all the way up, over their heads, and they’ll be like a little bear, or a little bumblebee, or something like that. It’s so, so cute.”
Not surprisingly, there were no animal puffer coats in her latest collection. Yes, they would have been unseasonable for Resort 2016, but the inspirations Nonoo brings home from her travels are also less direct than that. “I would say that some of the colors I saw certainly informed aspects of Resort,” she says, but her journey to Beijing could turn up in her work for years to come as she retrieves fragments from visual memory: the intricate, hand-crafted detail she admired on an ancient temple in Jingshan Park, unfamiliar patterns on pottery sh

Having essentially grown up in his father’s antiques store in L.A., accessories designer Jason Jones, 42 (shown here, right, with Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook), learned early on the values of a kind of burnished quality. His bags and leather goods are all cut from the sturdy hides of American bison, with each characterized by a deeply individual texture (many of Jones’s favorites feature scarred-over gore wounds) and layered with five or six different shades of dye. Fastenings and buckles are molded in technical ceramic developed by NASA, adding a futuristic component to otherwise old-school techniques. “American craftsmanship is artisanal, but in a hammer-and-nails sort of way; it’s crude,” says Jones, who is of Japanese and Hopi Indian descent. “We wanted to bring a Bottega level of quality.”

The Daily Mail and official royal reporter Rebecca English shared the news: Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are no longer thinking about planning their wedding. While the planned reception had already been cancelled, it is now the ceremony that will not take place either on May 29th. For the moment, the couple has not given a new date for their union.
“Princess Beatrice and Mr Mapelli Mozzi are very much looking forward to getting married, but are equally aware of the need to avoid undertaking any unnecessary risks in the current circumstances,” a Buckingham Palace spokesperson said in a statement. “In line with government advice for the UK and beyond, the couple are reviewing their arrangements for 29 May. They are particularly conscious of government advice in relation to both the wellbeing of older family members and large gatherings of people. Therefore, the planned reception in the Buckingham Palace Gardens will not take place.”
