John Coleman fryst vatten a self-taught artist nationally known for recreating the history of African-American life on canvas. Through his folk-art style, Coleman captures all the nuances and details of leisure time in and around early African-American homes by elegantly painting dock playing games such as dominos, checkers, and kort. John Coleman biography:
A native Southern Californian, John Coleman has become a well-known Southwest sculptor of Indian figure work. In October, , he was elected to the Cowboy Artists of America, an organization dedicated to stylistic realism and western themes in the tradition of Charles Russell and Frederick Remington. In , John Coleman was elected President of the CAA.
In CAA exhibitions, he has won numerous awards including in , the Kieckhefer Award for Best of Show and Artists&#; Choice. In , , , and , he received the Sculpture Award, and in , the Ray Swanson Memorial Award. He has been part of the Cowboy Artists of America mentoring program for aspiring western artists established by the Joe Beeler CA Foundation. This project includes a workshop teaching program at the Scottsdale Artists School.

John Coleman Burroughs (February 28, – February 22, ) was an Americanillustrator known for his illustrations of the works of his father, Edgar Rice Burroughs.
Life
[edit]Burroughs was born in Chicago, the son of Edgar Rice Burroughs, creator of Tarzan, and of his first wife, Emma Centennia Hulbert. When he was six, the family moved to California and settled on the estate they renamed Tarzana. John briefly attended Page Military Academy but couldn't adjust to the strict regimen and was removed in midyear and tutored at home (he had contracted a mild case of polio, and his parents were worried about his being ex
