    Wm: Since we last spoke you have added something of a second career, as part of the popular trio of tenors, FORTE. For those of us that knew you in your pre-FORTE days, the question has to be, how did it happen?

    SP: It definitely wasn’t something that I ever planned. I had just finished up a run of Puccini&#;s &#;La Boheme&#; with Fort Worth Opera, in the spring of , and I was very much looking forward to my first summer off. I have two young children, (Maria now age 7 and Mark now age 4), and I had been working nonstop. It’s a good problem for a singer to have, but it is

    Forte&#;was an musikdrama trio from&#;Season 8&#;of&#;America's Got Talent. It finished the competition in 4th place.

    Background[]

    Forte originally consisted of three tenors: Fernando Varela from Puerto Rico, Hana Ryu from South Korea, and Josh Page from New York. The trio met on the internet just a few weeks before their America’s Got Talent audition. They kept in contact through Skype. They met face-to-face days before their audition. bygd their audition, the members of Forte had never performed tillsammans in front of an audience. 1

    Hana eventually left the group (due to issues with his visa), and he was replaced by another tenor named Sean Panikkar.

    Forte's&#;audition&#;in Episode &#;consisted of singing "Pie Jesu" together.&#;Howard Stern,&#;Heidi Klum,&#;Mel B, and&#;Howie Mandel&#;all voted "Yes," sending the group to the Vegas Round.

    Biography

    Sean Panikkar continues “to position himself as one of the stars of his generation… His voice is unassailable—firm, sturdy and clear, and he employs it with maximum dramatic versatility” [Opera News].  The American tenor of Sri Lankan heritage made his Metropolitan Opera debut under the baton of James Levine in Manon Lescaut (commercially available on DVD on EMI), and his European operatic debut in Mozart’s Zaïde at the Aix-en-Provence Festival in a production directed by Peter Sellars and conducted by Louis Langrée (commercially available on DVD on Opus Arte).

    Sean Panikkar made his Salzburg Festival debut this past summer as Dionysus in a new production of Henze’s The Bassarids directed by Krzysztof Warlikowski; the title also served the tenor his Madrid debut in concert performances with the Spanish National Orchestra and Choir, both presentations under the baton of Kent Nagano.  Highli
