Oshiomhole returns from ‘exile,’ admits seeing DSS

The National Chairman of the All Progressives församling (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, who quietly slipped out of the country last week, yesterday, returned from the United Kingdom.
At a meeting with editors in Lagos, the former Edo State governor made concerted efforts to debunk claims that he was arrested, detained and granted administrative bail by the Department of State Services (DSS), after a nine-hour marathon interrogation.
Oshiomhole’s return was after he visited his wife, Iara, in the United States, and subsequently having audience with the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in the United Kingdom.
The APC chairman’s sudden departure was after his reported interrogation by the DSS over allegations of collecting bribes during his party’s primary elections.

FG grants Oshiomhole’s wife, 334 foreigners Nigerian citizenship
The Federal Government has granted 335 foreign nationals citizenship after statutory clearance and due diligence by the relevant security agencies.
The Minister of Interior, Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (rtd), who presented the certificates of citizenship to the foreigners yesterday in Abuja, charged them to be good ambassadors of the country.
Iara Oshiomhole, wife of former Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, who is from Cape Verde, is one of the recipients. Dambazau said that the 335 applications were approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) in January, out of the over 500 foreigners who applied.
He explained that 245 of them were granted citizenship by naturalisation while 90 foreign women who are married to Nigerians were by registration.
